    Gili Tepekong

    Gili Tepekong is situated on the east coast of Padang Bai. There are reef slopes and vertical walls, some swim throughs and rock pillars. Current varies, from moderate to strong, especially on the full / new moon periods. Visibility is about 25 to 30m.

    On the east side of Gili Tepekong, it is sloping down, full of hard and soft corals and sponges. Coral bommies are found at about 20 to 24m, where reef sharks and nurse sharks can be seen. Lobsters and stingrays are often spotted too. At the southern end of the slope, there is a swim-through leading to the other end.

    On the west side of Gili Tepekong, this area can be hit by strong current, and it was given a nick name, “The Toilet”. School of fishes are attracted in this kind of condition, tunas, barracudas and sharks. If you are lucky, you might get to see the mysterious Mola Mola at the right season.
